My Re-organization projects are scary!

Ok. I have been reorganzing my office area. Scary! Why? You ask? Because the deeper I get into it, the more NEW projects come out of it!!! #1 is that I am going to HAVE to get a file cabinet to keep all the craft projects that I come up with from magazines and the internet. I have to get them organized and down to a dull roar.

#2 NEVER and I mean never store items in a NON see thru container. I opened up a box that I wondered what I had put in there. Cards! Lots of them. - So now I have to get back on the stick and use them. It is called encouragement, Marcia!!! #3 The box that was full of all the "computer" stuff is now in a drawer, BUT, it needs to be gone thru thoroughly as I don't need the stuff from a DELL computer when I now have an HP. And do I really need 3 cables for something that I dont' even know what it goes to anymore???? Know what I mean? (I hope so! I hope I am not the only one!!!!)

Well, I am almost done to the point of the room being tolerable. I have cleaned up the desk area but the next project there is to go thru everything thoroughly and scale it down to a workable/productive place. :)

4 Things you Can't Recover .......

The stone............after the throw. The word..........after it's said.

The occasion........after it's missed. The time.........after it's gone.

Knock, Knock I knocked at heaven's door this morning. God asked me...'My child, what can I do for you?' And I said, 'Father, please protect and bless the person reading this message.' God smiled and answered.....'Request granted'.

More Purse Organizers

I am so pleased with my hubby. He requested that I make up some of my purse organizers for him to take to work and he would show them off and see if he could get some sales for me! So here are some that I am sending off with him. :) One of the pink ribbon organizers, I am going to send to my old classmate that I have recently caught back up with on Facebook. She is an 8 year cancer survivor and I want her to have this.

The Star Spangled Banner as not heard before!

Sung here by five young ladies at a Texas Tech University Basketball game. Some of these girls are as young as 6! This anthem never fails to bring tears to my eyes!

Kayden's Autumn Jumper

This is the fleece jumper that I made for my 15 month old granddaughter. It really turned out cute. This pattern is SO easy. It is a front, back, facings, hem it, top stitch it and put on the buttons and buttonholes! Now to find her something cute to wear under it!

Take a Hike!

I love fall. 100 Days to Christmas says to get out there and gather leaves! I used to do that in Nebraska and iron them between 2 pieces of wax paper! Saved many many leaves that way! I can't get out there today but I will "gather" leaves by working on the great fall colored fleece fabric that I am making Kayden a jumper out of. It is gorgeous and has fall flowers on it! Check in over and 100 Days to Christmas and join in the giveaways and organization of Christmas!

Kayden's Fleece Overalls

Well, they did turn out cute but several things I would do differently. The bias tape on the facing would be longer and the edging farther away from the edge so I wouldn't have to hand tack. Buttons instead of snaps. I am not happy with how the snaps go on. Good use of one yard of my $1 fleece, though. Don't you think? :)

Belinda's Angels

When I went to the Post Office Box this morning, I wondered what a pop bottle was doing in my box when I opened it! As I pulled it out I realized it was the angels that Belinda, my friends from Craftsayings Message board had promised me! What a creative way to mail them! And how beautiful are these angels!!!! Several weeks ago, I offered a RAK (random act of kindness) of punch ribbon that I had purchased about 4 years ago to make these angels. Well, obviously I did not get around to it (I guess I need a "round tuit!" ) and will all the fabric I have accumulated, I felt that it was probably not going to be a high priority project so I offered them up to a crafty friend on the board. Belinda was the first to respond. I sent them off to her with a promise that she would send me a couple when she made them. Thank you sooooo much, Belinda. I absolutely adore them and you did such a wonderful job! There are so many talented crafters on that board and it is a wonderful place to visit.

Here is the website for the directions for those of you that are interested:

Again, Belinda, I am so glad you could use the ribbon and the you enjoyed making these angels. I am delighted with the ones you sent back to me all made up! :) Keep up the good work!!

The Ultimate PNW Garage Band - The Fabulous Wailers

Last night a 50 year concert was performed at the Snoqualmie Casino by the Wailers. 50 years almost to the day, they played at the Spanish Castle off of Highway 99 which launched renewed life into that old place and kicked off an era of teen dances and rock N roll! Pat O'Day, known to most of us from radio KJR Seattle channel 95 got the ball rolling and he hosted the event last night. How interesting it was to hear him tell of some of his memories of bands and persons that he had contact back in the day. His remembrance of Tony Orlando and "the acrobat" had us all in stitches! That man is a GREAT MC. Seattle Times article about the event.

The Wailers started out their set with "Beat Guitar" and the beat went on that is for sure. Kent Morrill's vocals thrilled the audience as they had 50 years ago. Age has nothing on this man. Buck Ormsby sang That Crazy Hand Jive and we all played along! :) And of course, the ending song "Louie, Louie." Would have been theirs had not another group stolen it but that is another story! lol And all is well between the 2 groups now and they even perform together at times!

Gail Harris joined the Wailers for 3 songs later in the evening. She sang her signature song "Idolize You." Gail was only 15 years old when she first performed with The Wailers at the Spanish Castle years ago! She can still entertain her audiences. We always enjoy to see her!

Kent Morrill will be returning to do his Roy Orbison show. Our understanding is that he does a remarkable job with his unbelievable authentic Roy Orbison show!

One of our Favorites is Neal Rush, the saxophonist. He was with another PNW garage band back in the day, "The Turnabouts" You may have heard them, they backed up Merilee Rush, "Angel of the Morning". Neal is a pleasure to visit with.

Of all the bands, The Wailers are my recollection of dancing in my youth. They have a new CD out, Rooster Rock. They sang all of the songs last night and we listened to the CD on the way home in the car. We really like it!!!! If you want to find out more about The Wailers, their website is http://www.thefabulouswailers.com/.

All in all, Doug and I had a good trip down memory lane. Sadly the only negative was the rude persons behind us that could not keep quiet. One lady sitting next to me finally left, saying as she left, "They just don't shut up!" I had to agree with her. Still, they didn't ruin it for us. And all I can say is, "Wailers, 50 years later and you still have it!"
