Handbag
I had fun making this bag for the 4th of July Swap on the TOH board. It was a little strange putting together but like everything, once you have made it the first time, it is easier the next. I chose a patriotic type fabric because we were suppose to decorate a bag with our favorite place to vacation. Well, it is my goal to someday take a trip around the states so this fit my theme. :) The inside liner has pockets to help keep things organized. The bag is available HERE. My Daddy was the bestest! Dad, Poppo, Daddy-O. By thinking my Daddy was the best doesn't mean he was perfect. We all know that we are not. But my dad loved me and he desired the best for me. Dad had an outgoing personality and he was always friendly when my friends came over. Often had a song to "sing" with their name in it. He loved people and he was such a good man! Glad that we grew up in the days when we did. The days of innocence, because when dad put me to bed, I would beg him to lay down with me and he would. When I was younger, my dad worked on the road so he was gone Monday thru Friday and home mostly on the weekends. Even though he would be busy with the paperwork, he always took time for me. I would often tag along with him. Even though he was on the road all week, he still loved to go for rides and we were definitely Sunday drivers! My dad was always there for me. And dad loved my mom. The most important thing that a father can do for his children is to love their mom. I could not work my dad against mom or vice versa. They seemed to always know or agree when the other said NO. lol Dad was also a very wonderful grandpa. His grandchildren loved him dearly and loved to spend time with him. Dad passed away on November 9, 1987 of acute leukemia. He was only 75 years old and I didn't have him nearly long enough. Dad could tell us stories from when he was younger and I so wish I had written them down. He once shared with us how when he was young living in St. Louis, the KKK paraded thru town and how scary that was. He remembers hearing Billy Sunday at a revival meeting and that short man, shouting and bantering across the podium/stage. Made an impression on him. He had very fond stories of his dad. I will always be proud of him and thankful to the Lord for the gift I had in dad. Happy Father's Day, Daddy. Know that you are still loved and cherished every day in my heart.

How quickly our babies grow up! Today my oldest daughter is 37. A wife and mother with 4 beautiful daughter's of her own! I can remember the day that I had her so clearly! And I also remember being pregnant with her for 10 months!! YES! Maybe that is one reason she likes her comfort zones! lol She was my reader in the family. That I have to say is much like me. She is more analytical than I am, though. Growing up we used to say that she had a curl in the middle of her forehead because when she was good she was VERY VERY good (which was most of the time) but there was this (is?) a stubborn streak that would not budge! lol What a joy she was and is. She loves the Lord and is such a good mommy to her girls. She has inherited some of my love of crafting and has her own etsy (4 Sisters Creations) shop with fun items on it. She has a very giving heart. I hope your day is special, my daughter and I pray that God will guide your heart, your mind and your words to bring honor to Him and joy to you and your family. I love you, sweetie!

Spot wanted to model Kayden's Matching Hat
Spot is a very agreeable model for Kayden's hat! I finished the matching hat for Kayden's birthday present. I was a little disappointed as I had a beautiful butterfly attached to the front but as I was sewing it on, a piece of the wing fell off and I realized this was NOT a good idea for a one year old, so off it came and a flower was put in it's place. :)

Finished the purse organizer!
The little kid in me comes out when I have a gift to give. I just can't wait. When I was in elementary and we made a gift for mom for mother's day - I could NEVER wait until Sunday to give it to her! Well, that is the way I am feeling about this purse and organizer for Teri. (Actually I want to keep it! lol) Her birthday is in August and it is going to be difficult to wait it out that long to give it to her, but I will!!! The purse organizer went together beautifully and I am already planning gifts for friends and family! The tutorial is available here. Garage Sale Find!
I love garage saling and I don't get to go very much anymore! But LOOK what I found this morning for only $1! A cute little wrought iron (HEAVY) small garden bench! A touch of stain or paint for the wood and this will be adorable on the patio for decoration and for the smaller grands when they visit! I just love it! :)

Someone just emailed this clip to us. This man, Terry Fator, is so talented! He is incredible and after watching this I googled him a little more and feel is a humble man also.The $1 million winner of the televised “America’s Got Talent” contest in 2007, called “one of the most talented people on the planet” by Simon Cowell himself, Fator is the direct descendant of Edgar Bergen, Buffalo Bob Smith, Shari Lewis, Wayland Flowers and Jim Henson. He has wanted to be a ventriloquist since he was 10 years old! Hope you enjoy this little video.

First Handbag
I am so happy with how this turned out! It is a beautiful bag. Being that this was a PDF file pattern, some the directions were clear as mud to me. I had some minor errors that I was able to simply correct and next time, it will go together much faster and easier! This is for my friend Teri for her birthday in August. I am going to make a matching purse organizer to go with. It will match the lining which you can't see here but is just darling! This is definitely ETSY worthy and when I get a couple more under my belt and find the magnetic snaps at a reasonable price, I am going to make some and try to sell. I did purchase the pattern so that I could make and sell. For now they are going to be gifts.
