Company Girl Coffee 11-6-09

I have found this website that is just such a blessing and encouragment to Christian ladies. Home Sanctuary Click on over there and check it out. I am going to try my hand at Coffee Girl Coffee! So here is my first attempt! lol

It has been a busy week here. I have been sewing sewing sewing getting presents made for my grandchildren for their birthdays coming up. I enjoy sewing and it is relaxing and as I sew it gives me time to think on scriptures and pray for friends as God brings them to mind. God tells us to pray without ceasing and to me this is what that means - finding time even in the busy schedules we lead to offer up prayer as we drive, sew, do our work, etc.

I am getting ready for 3 of my grandchildren coming to spend the weekend. I always pray for them that God will help them to be the men and women of God that He has planned for them to be. That they will love Him will all their hearts. And that Grammy will be the example that she should be, sharing God's love in all that we see and do. I have activities planned, mostly crafting this weekend and we are calling it Camp Grammy! And I pray that mom and dad will get some relaxing time together and some quiet time as they take this time to review the past year and set goals for the new year.

One of the thoughts mulling around in my mind this week: It isn't as important to be right as it is to DO the RIGHT thing.

Well, now I am off to finish getting ready for my mini guests! Looking forward to fun with them. And so is my dog. I have been telling him the kids are coming over and he is all hyped for them! He loves it when he has kids to play with! Have a wonderful weekend!

Quiet Book out of Potholders!

What a cute idea this is from Obsessively Stitching! I am going to have to make some for my youngest grands. And I can see this with a Noah's Ark theme or many ideas! :) Find the tutorial HERE.

Last Set of Jammies for this week.

Last of jammies for this week. These are for my grandson who has his 8th birthday next Sunday. I love the frogs, I hope he does. I have 4 more sets of jammies to finish by February. 1 for a December birthday, 1 for a January birthday and 2 for February birthdays. :) Now I am concentrating on the Snuggies, but I think I will take a break and just enjoy the grands for the weekend! :) But I do love sewing!

Getting Ready for Camp Grammie!

Three of my grandchildren are coming to our house on Friday to spend the weekend. They are 3, almost 6 and really soon to be 9. Recently a friend sent me some fabric and in the boxes were tote bags all cut out and fused with Heat N bond lite. I decided to make them up and use them for "goodie" bags for the kids while they are here. The dinosaur one is fabric I had and made up because I didn't feel my 9 year old grandson would care for the more feminine fabrics. :) I have filled each with crayons, markers, coloring books, a pad of paper and scissors. As we make projects over the weekend, they will be able to put them away in their bags and cart them home on Sunday when they leave. :) This grammie is excited to have Camp Grammie this weekend. I plan on taking lots of pictures and hopefully scrapbooking some for the kids to be given to them at a later date to help them remember the hopefully GOOD time at Grammies!

More Jammies

Monkey see Monkey do. These are for my 5 year old grandson's birthday. I didn't have burgundy for the bottoms so I went with tan. :)

These are for my soon to be 10 year old grandson (yes, another 10 year old! lol) He love the Huskies, so these are perfect for him.

My dancing granddaughter will be getting this nightgown with a pair of boot slippers to match. I am still waiting on the size from mom before making them. :)

I am also getting ready to have 3 of my grandchildren this weekend so I am planning "Granny Camp." :)

My Re-organization projects are scary!

Ok. I have been reorganzing my office area. Scary! Why? You ask? Because the deeper I get into it, the more NEW projects come out of it!!! #1 is that I am going to HAVE to get a file cabinet to keep all the craft projects that I come up with from magazines and the internet. I have to get them organized and down to a dull roar.

#2 NEVER and I mean never store items in a NON see thru container. I opened up a box that I wondered what I had put in there. Cards! Lots of them. - So now I have to get back on the stick and use them. It is called encouragement, Marcia!!! #3 The box that was full of all the "computer" stuff is now in a drawer, BUT, it needs to be gone thru thoroughly as I don't need the stuff from a DELL computer when I now have an HP. And do I really need 3 cables for something that I dont' even know what it goes to anymore???? Know what I mean? (I hope so! I hope I am not the only one!!!!)

Well, I am almost done to the point of the room being tolerable. I have cleaned up the desk area but the next project there is to go thru everything thoroughly and scale it down to a workable/productive place. :)

4 Things you Can't Recover .......

The stone............after the throw. The word..........after it's said.

The occasion........after it's missed. The time.........after it's gone.

Knock, Knock I knocked at heaven's door this morning. God asked me...'My child, what can I do for you?' And I said, 'Father, please protect and bless the person reading this message.' God smiled and answered.....'Request granted'.

More Purse Organizers

I am so pleased with my hubby. He requested that I make up some of my purse organizers for him to take to work and he would show them off and see if he could get some sales for me! So here are some that I am sending off with him. :) One of the pink ribbon organizers, I am going to send to my old classmate that I have recently caught back up with on Facebook. She is an 8 year cancer survivor and I want her to have this.

The Star Spangled Banner as not heard before!

Sung here by five young ladies at a Texas Tech University Basketball game. Some of these girls are as young as 6! This anthem never fails to bring tears to my eyes!
