Remember those in need this holiday season

Today's directive is to remember those less fortunate than us during the holidays. While you are making out your list for your holiday dinner, add some extras to that list to give to your local food bank, or to a specific family or to your church for those who may not be able to afford to have a special celebration. One thing that Top Foods did recently was to have a grocery bag with several items out on a table up by the checkstands. The contents was listed on the outside. You purchase the bag for $5 and put it in a special bin by the doors as you leave for the food bank. I hope you can and will do remember others for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. If you know of a specific family in your community that may need some assistance, perhaps your family and another family could go together and provide the makings for a wonderful dinner and maybe even extras (i.e. special napkins, centerpiece, holiday gifts, etc). There is nothing that makes the heart feel better than to share and give to others.

For other thoughts, visit 100 days to Christmas!

Good post, and excellent reminder. There truly is no better feeling than to give as we are able, and it is a blessing to pass that wonderful feeling on to our children who learn from our example :)

That is a good reminder. We are contributing at church on Friday and throughout the season.
