Baked Candied Apples

Yum. Can you smell them? The baked candied apples? Definitely an Autumn aroma!

Bake Candy Apples

2 C Sugar, divided
1 C Corn Syrup
12 - 15 large Red Delicious apples
Brown Sugar to taste
1 - 9 0z package Red Hots
3 - 4 drops red food coloring

Fill a large stockpot 1/2 full of water. Add 1 c of sugar and the corn syrup. Stir well. Place cleaned and stemmed apples in pot. Let boil for 15 minutes. Butter a jelly roll pan and set aside. Take apples out of syrup and place on jelly roll pan. Reserve the syrup. Sprinkle the apples with brown sugar. Add the remaining sugar, red hots and food coloring to reserved syrup and bring to a boil. Pour over the apples. Bake at 350 for 1 hour. Serves 12 to 15. Enjoy! I like to core my apples but you don't have to.

Yum! I want to make these just so my house smells Fall-ish!

Thanks again for your comment! Myah still has a hard time with her walking. She can walk all on her own, but she is still quite wobbly. She can't hike on a trail, so daddy carries her the entire time:)

I loved candy apples as a kid but haven't had them in years! I will definitely be trying this recipe - I know my kids will LOVE them.
