BisQuickAsAWink Biscuit Mix

This makes a great mix to have on hand! :) More economical than purchasing baking mixes.

BisQuickAsAWink Mix

Use this mix in any recipe calling for Bisquick or other commercial baking mixes. From Gloria Pitzer, The Recipe Detective.

8 cups flour
1 1/4 cups nonfat dry milk powder
1/4 cup baking powder
1 tablespoon salt
2 cups shortening

Combine flour, milk, baking powder, and salt in a very large bowl. Cut in shortening until it resembles coarse cornmeal. Store in tightly closed covered container in a cool place.

Yield: about 10 cups

I make this a lot. You can even put in quart jars and decorate and give as a gift. I want to try this with whole wheat WHITE flour but haven't yet. I can seem to find that flour in the stores. I may have to order some online and give it a try. :)
